Updated Lineup: Sunday Morning Thoughts.

Have gone back and forth quite a bit, and I think I've settled on something I like a little bit more than the original build. As of 7:23 AM EST.

As a lot of you that have been following the blog know, I'm typically a spend down at defense guy. However, this week, I can't get past targeting a defense against by far the worst quarterback in the NFL in C.J. Beathard. Conversely, I swapped off of Philip Rivers, due to the fear he may not have to throw enough. I still think he has 4 touchdown upside and is a fine cash game play, but just think Watson's floor is a bit higher.

The one thing here that worries me is having two Bengals, but I think that this game has the potential to be a shootout.

Week 4 thoughts- time to get back

So far this year has been a bit bumpy. Essentially did not buy into the Saints dominance in Week 1, and everyone bought in on Week 2 starting the season off 0-2.

Starting bankroll- $10,000
Current bankroll $9,100

Really not worried about it, if you've followed this blog long enough, it's a long season with plenty of time to rebound.

This is the week that I'm going to start pressing a little bit. Putting $2,000 in play this week as I find myself loving lineup construction. The one thing that I'm a little worried about is whether everyone will have a similar lineup build starting with Elliott/Kamara/Thomas and figuring the rest out.

There are a number of injuries still out there, but the biggest one I'm looking at is Keenan Allen. If he were to miss, this lineup changes pretty drastically.

Here is where I'm at as of 5:50AM on Saturday Morning.

May have gotten lucky

No idea how this lineup would have done in 50/50's, but somehow I won a vast majority of my head to heads.

Ended up winning about 82% at just 110 points which doesn't seem right including my one $500 h2h contest which was a win.

I faced a ton of Julio Jones this week and if you went with Julio and Michael Thomas it was unlikely you were able to fit Kamara.

Week 3 Cash Lineup

On a plane at the moment, but here’s where I’m at with my FanDuel cash lineup. Will adjust accordingly based on inactive depending on WiFi on the plane.

Blake Bortles
Alvin Kamara
Latavius Murray
Michael Thomas
Keelan Cole
Emmanuel Sanders (Upgrade to Brandin Cooks if Clement looks positive)
Zach Ertz
Giovani Bernard (Will be following news on Corey Clement and may change if looking positive)
Cowboys

Week 3 Preview

More injuries causing another free spot.

This week it is Latavius Murray. He's simply too cheap on FanDuel at $5,200 against an awful Buffalo team. I'll likely have 100% in cash and nearly 100% in GPP's.

Other than that, it's looking at guys in the 49ers KC game, the ATL NO game, and then some other injuries that create value.

Also, if you aren't already listening, I highly recommend you give the Power Grid a listen.

Evaluating Cash Games Moving Forward

One of the things that I've done over the past few seasons is that I've been relatively consistent with my cash game entries. I would fluctuate a little bit, but not significantly.

The first two weeks, there seems to be significant chalk with players such as James Conner, Antonio Brown, Alvin Kamara, Tevin Coleman, etc. If this continues throughout the season, I need to evaluate what to do here, as the reality is it turns into a 3x3 in a lot of head to head games which makes it very difficult to win consistently due to margin of error being so small. I either need to decide to fade those players, scale back my play, or go with a more GPP focused approach in those weeks.

If you've been following this blog for a while, you know that I do not play 50/50's especially multi-entry 50/50's.

I've had worse stretches than just two weeks, so not time to panic yet. This week wasn't a complete wipeout like the first week was, as I won 35% of my H2H games.

Week 2 Cash Lineup

Punting at defense this week, as the more I looked into Houston, Watson is just too underpriced. I think he'll be too highly owned in cash and don't really want to fade him in that contest.

Good luck everyone.

What a start to the season

Crazy how week one was dominated with weather, and now week 2 is being dominated by injuries.

Here's what we know
Josh Gordon has been released by the Browns, and it doesn't look positive for any injury
Devonta Freeman- Out for several weeks
Marcus Mariota- Sounds like both him and Blaine Gabbert will play?

Current lineup pool I'll be selecting from:

QB-
Case Keenum
Phillip Rivers
DeShaun Watson (GPP)
Tyrod Taylor (DraftKings)

RB-
Alvin Kamara- Not making that mistake twice
James Conner- Too cheap still
T.J. Yeldon- (DraftKings GPP)
Tevin Coleman

WR-
Emmanuel Sanders- Top overall receiver
Jarvis Landry- Liked him more before with Josh Gordon playing
Antonio Brown
Tyreek Hill
Rashard Higgins- (DraftKings GPP)
JuJu Smith Schuster- GPP

TE-
Jared Cook
David Njoku
Jonnu Smith
Ian Smith

DEF-
Houston
Minnesota

Injuries, Injuries Injuries

We have all kinds of injuries already in week 2 that could shape this week.

1) Patriots backfield- Rex Burkhead was limited at practice again, Sony Michel doesn't appear to be ready, the Patriots are going against a tough Jaguars defense. Could this be a James White week?

2) Leonard Fournette- Gametime decision with a hamstring injury. T.J. Yeldon would step in and be the starter and is extremely cheap against a Patriots defense that looked soft in week 1.

3) Devonta Freeman- Still out with a knee injury. Tough spot for Tevin Coleman against a good Carolina run defense, but on DraftKings in a PPR setup, he's a solid play for how cheap he is.

4) Aaron Rodgers- If Rodgers misses this week, the Vikings likely are a must play defense even on the road.

5) DeSean Jackson- DeSean Jackson has come out and said that "His knee is JACKED UP", that's not a good sign for someone who relies on their speed. This could be a bump to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin if he is out.

Blog Schedule

Here is what I'm thinking for blog schedule as a few of you have been asking. It's been a slow start to the season, mostly as I've been helping build Footballguys college football DFS coverage.

Thursday-
Initial thoughts on the slate, maybe some showdown thoughts on DraftKings

Friday night/Saturday morning-
Target list of guys I'm looking at throughout the week

Sunday Morning 9AM-
FanDuel Strategies and lineups- Unfortunately due to DraftKings community guidelines, I'm not allowed to give out my lineups, but will give my thoughts there as well.

Sporadic throughout the week
Will post different thoughts throughout the week.

No Saints= No Money

The title says it all. On to week 2

535 H2H

This will be fun. Delanie Walker in my opponents flex. If you have Kamara/Thomas I would have forced Brees in there.

Week 1 FanDuel Roster

Week 1- A lot of weather concerns- Cash Game Lineup

In case you missed it, there is a lot of weather going on throughout the country. Wind/Rain all-around nastiness.

I'm avoiding the Cleveland Pittsburgh game in all formats except for James Conner in cash (fading him in GPP due to ownership)

Here's what I'm rolling out for cash games this week. At the moment, I'm torn between two lineups. I'm punting at quarterback and defense and loading up on another position. Should have my final decision soon.

Welcome to 2018- Initial Thoughts

Welcome back everyone to NFL season 2018.

First of all a big thank you to Footballguys for once again allowing me to have this blog. Honestly, if you're playing DFS and you are not a Footballguys subscriber, you're really missing out. It's where I derive a lot of what is on this blog with the information on their site combined with my own research.

http://www.footballguys.com/buy-now.php

For this season, I'm not sure how exactly the blog is going to work or run this season. If you have things you'd like to see or featured please let me know as we are changing it from a purely FanDuel specific blog to a blog about all of DFS. I'll still post some lineups, but I think the blog has progressed past a point of me telling you how to grow your bankroll and tracking my play each week.

Some things we will also include:
Weather
College DFS, we have college DFS main slates included in our DFS package this season at no cost
Cash game plays and lineups
